According to the estimates of international experts, there are more than 110 million active mines in 68 countries in the world today, and this number is growing annually. The most polluted countries are: Egypt, Angola, Iran, Afghanistan, Iraq, China, Cambodia, Mozambique, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia.
Due to the war of the russian federation against Ukraine, the territory of our country is also likely to become one of the most contaminated by explosive objects in the world. According to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) Intense fighting, shelling and landmines have led to a serious humanitarian crisis, including casualties and injuries, mass movements and displacement of people across the country and across borders to neighboring countries, communities trapped in besieged cities without food, water, medical care, electricity or safe passage, and severe destruction and damage to civilian infrastructure and residential buildings.
The main problems arising in the territories contaminated by explosive objects:
Death and maiming among the civilian population from landmines and anti-personnel mines;
Restriction of access to land, forest, water resources, food;
Restriction of access to infrastructure facilities;
Restrictions on the provision of humanitarian aid;
Obstacles to the development of the economy are the impossibility of the full functioning of economic entities. Solving these problems is the main goal of humanitarian demining.
Charitable Foundation “Modern Village and Town” is a certified operator of anti-mine activities in the category “Informing the population about the risks associated with mines and explosive remnants of war”.

The purpose of the public awareness program is to reduce the risk of death or injury from mines or other explosive objects and explosive remnants of war (ERW) by raising public awareness and encouraging safe behavior. That is, to make people aware of the risks of mines and explosives, to encourage them to behave consciously to minimize the risk that poses a danger to the life and health of people, property and the environment.

November 10, 2018 is the day that divided the life of a young guy into “before” and “after”. Vlad rode from his grandmother on a motorcycle, and to meet a car – this is how an accident happened. Both Vlad and his mother twisted this day in their heads a hundred times, but time cannot be returned back. Before the accident, Vlad loved to play football, now he can only watch others play. During the accident, the guy’s spine was damaged, but after 3 years of rehabilitation, operations and treatment, he can already sit in a wheelchair, take the phone and hold the dishes. And after the accident, Vlad could not even move.
Vlad had dreams, but after the accident everything was erased – he has a dream, and now he has only one – to walk. To return to such a simple and familiar life for others again – when you can get up and go to school or to the yard with friends, help your mother. And the whole life of mom and Vlad became the only way to a common dream – for Vlad to start walking again. He is an adult and understands that this requires a lot of work, treatment, rehabilitation, and all this requires a lot of money. Now Vlad is finishing the 11th grade and plans to enter the university. He is still a child, but the child is an adult, and he understands perfectly well that the mother herself will not “pull out” everything.
We are asking you to help us raise funds for Vlad for a rehabilitation course at the Spine Recovery Center in Cherkasy. And we all believe that his dream will come true, and Vlad will be able to go out to his friends on his own, without a wheelchair.
Misha’s first smile
The parents were waiting for Misha with love and hope. But during childbirth, doctors had to make a vacuum. It was a critical moment in the life of the family. Brain malformations appear after a difficult birth. In Misha only 20% of the brain is “active”. When he was 1.5 years old, he held his head a little and started shouting the first sounds, but everything stopped, now he can’t do that either.
The child has localized symptomatic epilepsy, microcephaly, tetraplegia, optic nerve atrophy, he does not see, does not focus his gaze, does not sit and does not even smile at his mother, just hugs. Parents control seizures with medication, and therefore they were allowed to go with Misha for rehabilitation in the village. Modrychi, where they chose a special course for such children, with epileptic seizures and convulsions.
Doctors hope that he will be able to hold his head and sit at least a little on his own, because now he is constantly on the handles, in a wheelchair can withstand up to 15 minutes, sometimes even swallowing saliva is a problem for him.

Denis has bilateral chronic sensory neural deafness. Modern medicine can not give an answer – why. But for the Denis family this is a terrible fact.
Denis, does not understand that he does not hear, but will understand it soon, and it’s scary. Cure it is impossible. – but there is an output – cochlear implantation – hearing prosthetics – a device that will allow the child to hear sounds and live a high-grade life. And the cost of a cochlear implant – 756 000 UAH!
His family lives in a small house on the outskirts of Smela in the Cherkasy region. Mom and her husband bring up even the eldest son – schoolboy. A typical Ukrainian average family that does not have significant savings, car, real estate and anything valuable that could sell. Live on men’s salary and child care. In the queue for state-funded hearing aid Denis at number 276 – this means that this year’s funds will not be enough precisely, and the next is not known whether they will be. Makar from the city of Uman, Cherkasy region childhood hearing impaired. The boy had set up in a school for children with hearing impairment. Makar does not hear the words, music, traffic noise he is in complete silence.
He did not hear, Makar reads, writes, sings, when using a hearing apparat when engaged with speech therapy exercises auditory perception, verbal speech.
For the development of Makar hearing and for its full life he need to purchase a hearing aid manufacturing «KIND», which costs 20,000 UAH.
The boy’s parents has childhood disabilities of hearing, they are unemployed and do not have the opportunity to buy such an expensive machine.
So please help raise the necessary funds for Makar.

Education for children without parental care and people with disabilities at the rehabilitation center “Prolisok” in Uman
Together with United States charity organization the training Klaymber SEG SM3276 and treadmills Vigor XP L500 were purchased and transferred to the Center for Social Rehabilitation “Prolisok”.
Generally the project includes:
- repair facilities (new windows and heating system);
- computer class, with interactive whiteboards to expand opportunities for distance studying;
- language laboratory equipment for teaching people with movement disabilities;
- increase of the quantity of places in the Center for Professional Education for children without parental care and people with disabilities from 112 to 150 seats;
- equipment room and stairs with special ramps and handrails for young people with musculoskeletal system diseases;
- laptops and mobile phones to provide educational services for people with disabilities who can not be present in the classroom;
- create a local Internet and develop software.
